PriceWaterhouseCoopers asked Arjan as a photographer for their private wealth customers magazine. For each issue Arjan records several portrait series, also of Jan Six, Old Masters painting expert at Sotheby´s Amsterdam.

In 2008, Arjan was asked by Qi Ideas to produce the images for a new online campaign for
Crystal Clear, a softdrink by Vrumona. In this campaign, called Women in Control of Shopping, an online shopping application was designed by Qi. Arjan recorded the stores entrances as well as the interiors in a 360 degree photo panoramas. He traveled to 9 major cities in The Netherlands in 2 weeks, recording a total of 72 stores.

Arjan went on assignment to the Bay of the Somme in France for En France magazine. Together with an editor, Arjan stayed for 3 days in the region to record a photo travel report. The images were published in the magazine.

Centercom, a media company managing outdoor and indoor advertising spaces, is also a client of Arjan's photography. For Centercom, Arjan records images of giant outdoor displays as well as several types of indoor retail displays.

In 2007 Arjan worked on an extensive assignment for a book about Amsterdam, called That's Why Amsterdam. Published by WEAN, these regional books focus on a editorial storyline, which is combined with short company profiles. Arjan recorded thousands of images of Amsterdam, about architecture, culture, people, canals, events. Also, he shot company photo reports of all 60 individual companies participating in the book. Examples: Amstel Hotel, Carré, Bols, Achmea, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Fietsfabriek, Koninklijke Marine, Kuehne & Nagel, Clifford Chance.

Arjan also recorded portraits of famous Amsterdam inhabitants, of whom Frank Sanders. Other portraits included Duco Stadig, Charles van Renesse and Roberto Meyer.

 

One of the company shoots that Arjan performed for the Amsterdam book, was the Amstel Hotel Intercontinental. This majectic hotel is Amsterdam's premier hotel with beautifully decorated interiors. Afterwards, the hotel purchased several of Arjan's images to use
in their international image database.

For the Rotary International organization in Chicago, Arjan was assigned with a photo shoot of Mrs Oumou Tall and her daughter. The little girl and her mother from Gambia were brought to The Netherlands for free medical treatment in the AMC Hospital. Arjan followed them during their morning hours capturing many touching images. One of the portraits was published in the Rotarian magazine.

In 2007, Arjan went on assignment to British Columbia, Canada, in order to make a photo series for a travel agency about the beautiful scenery as well as about traveling in Canada. He stayed for 4 weeks in Canada and visited Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Whistler, Jasper and Banff national parks in the Rocky Mountains, the Kootenays and Okanagan Valley.

Also in 2007, Arjan co-produced the images for the WEAN book about the Province of Limburg. This was the first regional book that covered a whole Province. In this book, the formula mix of editorial content and company profiles was continued. Amongst others, Arjan did a company shoot of the Hertog Jan brewery.

For Buitenleven magazine, published by ANWB Media, Arjan initiated an article about a magnificent farmhouse De Eenhoorn (unicorn) in De Beemster. Arjan recorded the images during several days, which resulted in an extensive photo report of the architecture, interiors and art collection, as well as nature and gardens.

In the Fall of 2006, Arjan traveled through California, USA. He captured image series of
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Death Valley, Yosemite, Golden Gate, Alcatraz, Getty Center, Hearst Castle, theMonterey Bay Aquarium and Napa Valley. The images vary greatly from nature and landscape to urban, people and architecture.

In February 2007, Arjan published an article in Grasduinen magazine about the ethics and consequences of flash photography on animals. Especially for nocturnal animals that live in the jungle, such as Dart Frogs. The article was illustrated with Arjan's images about Costa Rica.

Arjan went on assignment to Las Vegas for
WIT magazine. For this feature, Arjan shot portrait images in one of the most famous wedding chapels, the Little White Wedding Chapel. This photo report was published in February 2007.

In the summer of 2007 Arjan was asked to record images of two boats that took part at the boat parade in the annual Amsterdam Gay Pride. It was the first time that the City of Enschede took part at this event. The assignment was given by an advertising agency working for the city of Enschede.

Also in February 2007, a Dutch magazine on professional photography called De Fotograaf, published an interview and portfolio about Arjan as a professional photographer. The article was written by Wim Broekman.

Arjan received an Award of Honour in the 2006 Argus Photo Contest. The awarded image was a remarkable close-up of a fly feeding itself on a liquid substance. Arjan received the same award for one of his other images in the 2005 contest.

In 2006, Arjan worked on an extensive photo book about Waterland and the Beemster, regions in the Northwestern part of Holland. The book was published by WEAN publishing. For this project, Arjan also conducted photo reports on 50 individual companies working in this region.

For Rabobank, one of Holland's leading bank corporations, Arjan recorded a scenic photo series of the Waterland, Noord-Holland, region. During this photography assignment, Arjan also photographed Rabobank offices and several board members and directors. Recently, Rabobank decorated a photo exhibition with Arjan's images of Waterland. Arjan now also works for other Rabobank branch offices in The Netherlands.

Arjan worked for Grasduinen Magazine on an assignment about the combination of Nature and Culture conservation projects. For this assignment, Arjan went to Landgoed Elswout, managed by Staatsbosbeheer, and Kasteel Waardenburg, managed by Stichting Geldersche Kastelen. The item, including the cover photo, was published in July 2006.

Zorgcirkel, a healthcare company with 13 regional care centres, is also a client of Arjan's photography. For Zorgcirkel, Arjan photographed 100 celebrating employees, of which the images were publlished in a dedicated photo book. He also worked on photoshoots of several of their buildings, photographing the architecture as well as their interiors.

For Jellinek Stichting, Arjan produced the images for the 2005 Annual Report. Challenging theme of the photography was 'Nature around urban Amsterdam'. The images were used to illustrate texts written by the urban ecologist of the city of Amsterdam, Remco Daalder.

Arjan went on assignment for the two leading Dutch magazines about Italy. His photo report about Venice was published in May 2006 by the Smaak van Italie magazine. His photography series about Lardo di Colonnata, a delicatesse from the Versilia region in Tuscany was published by Italie Magazine in the summer of 2006.

Arjan also photographed an architectural project in Liguria and went to Lombardia to take photographs of the Italian Alps region.

For the Amsterdam office of international law firm Allen & Overy, Arjan worked on a photo report of their office, The Apollo House. This remarkable building dates back from 1939 and still has many art-deco style details. Arjan produced a color as well as black and white image presentation.

In autumn 2005 Arjan went to Costa Rica where he recorded a magnificent photo series. Because of the huge-scale biodiversity and still pristine rain forests and could forests, Costa Rica is a true pearl of the Latin America region. Later, images of this series were published in Grasduinen magazine.

In 2005 Arjan recorded the SAIL 2005 event in the port of Amsterdam. His images were published by online news magazines such as Nu.nl and Volkskrant.

Arjan works for an international hotel group based in Amsterdam, photographing their properties. He records the architecture as well as the interiors of hotels, rooms, lobbies and other facilities. Arjan has previously worked on shoots for hotels, villa's and mansions.

Arjan received an Award of Honour in the 2005 Argus Photo Contest. The awarded image was an image of a group of trees in snow and fog, lit by a pink morning glow. The image was taken at sunrise right next to a petrol station at one of the busiest highways of the Netherlands. Arjan received the same award for one of his other images in the 2006 contest.

In 2004 Arjan produced a travel report on
South-Africa. His images illustrate an overland 7000 kilometre journey from Capetown to Johannesburg. Images include places like Cape Point, Swaziland, Lesotho, Kruger Park, Addo Elephant Park, Hluhluwe Game Reserve, Drakensberg and Blyde River Canyon.
